Dr. Heidi Grooms

Practice Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Heidi Grooms is the practice owner and veterinarian. She completed her undergrad at the University of Illinois in Animal Sciences and went on to graduate from the U of I Vet School in the spring of 2008. Dr. Heidi and her husband Nick bought the clinic from Dr. Robert and Neal Graham on July 1st, 2008. Dr. Heidi enjoys the challenges that mixed animal practice provides. Most days she can be found on farms treating a variety of animals. She especially enjoys working up lame horses, using her ultrasound during breeding season and treating foals. Dr. Heidi still likes to get back into the small animal clinic for surgeries and to see her cat and dog patients. She has three human children, Gabby, Grace and Jack, and three rescue black lab mixes, Jake, Katie and Callie. In her free time, Dr. Heidi enjoys getting out on her boat in the summer and trail riding her aunt and uncle’s horses with her daughters. 

Dr. Taylor Arlis

Veterinarian

Dr. Tayor Arlis is the associate veterinarian at Graham Veterinary Clinic. She also completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and went on to receive her DVM from the U of I Vet School in the spring of 2018. Dr. Taylor and her husband, JP, moved to Sullivan shortly after graduation. JP is a police officer with the City of Arthur. Suturing and caring for large wounds is one of Dr. Taylor’s specialties, along with working with mares and foals in the spring. She also thoroughly enjoys surgery on dogs and cats in the clinic and working with her small animal patients every day. Dr. Taylor loves the craziness of mixed animal practice and is up for working with anything from goats, to turtles, to guinea pigs, to mini pigs. She has enjoyed getting to know the town of Arthur and all her clients as well. Dr. Taylor has two ginormous dogs at home, Winston (the three-legged wonder) and Ezra, and 2 cats Tizzy and Ziggy. Dr. Taylor and JP spend their free time fishing on any body of water they can find nearby.

Dr. Tanner Typer

Veterinarian

Dr. Tanner completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in Animal Sciences and went on to graduate with his DVM from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in May of 2021. He grew up in Sullivan and moved back shortly after graduating from vet school. Dr. Tanner lives at home with his girlfriend, Kristen, Who is also a Veterinarian at Kaskaskia Animal Hospital, and their three dogs, Murphy, Ellie, and Harley.

Tiffany Davis

Certified Veterinarian Technician

Tiffany Davis is one of our valued certified veterinary technicians. She has been with Graham Veterinary Practice since 2011, after she graduated from the Parkland Vet Tech program in Champaign, Illinois. Tiffany thoroughly enjoys monitoring and caring for surgical patients and is our go-to for tough blood draw patients.  She also helps manage the staff as well as the everyday tasks at the office. Tiffany and her husband Ben live in Sullivan and have three children, Brantley, Lily, and Rosie. They also have 3 dogs, Jax, Remi, and Raisin, and a cat named Charlie. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends, boating, camping and watching her favorite sport, NASCAR.

Emma Fortney

Certified Veterinarian Technician

Emma Fortney is one of our valued certified veterinary technicians. She has been with Graham Veterinary Clinic since 2019, after she graduated from the Parkland Vet Tech program in Champaign, Illinois. Emma is also certified in Low-Stress Handling. Emma enjoys working with hospitalized patients and yearly appointments. She is also our CVT that gets adventurous and will help on any and all exotic animal cases.  Emma lives in Urbana with her high school sweetheart Chris. Together they have 2 pitbulls, Hunter and Shiloh, and a guinea pig named Luna. She also enjoys crafting and napping with her dogs.

Alex Patterson

Veterinary Technician

Alex Patterson is one of our veterinary technicians currently enrolled in school to become a certified veterinary technician. She has been with Graham Veterinary Practice for a combination of 5 years. Alex is our main large animal vet tech and thoroughly enjoys working with foals during foaling season. She also can be found riding along in the trucks with one of the doctors helping to run the x-ray equipment, endoscope, or dental equipment. She also manages the inventory of all the doctors’ vet trucks. Alex and her husband, Drew, live in Sullivan and have two children, Addie and Avery. They also have 3 dogs (Nadia, Hanka, and Knox), 3 horses (Hancock, Autumn, and Smoke), as well as 4 barn cats (Bonnie, Clyde, Missy, and Luner.) In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, camping, and crafting!

Torri Bickel

Veterinarian Technician

Torri is one of our veterinary assistants that is also currently in school to finish her veterinary technician degree. Torri also has a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from SIUC. She has been with Graham Veterinarian Clinic since October 2018. Her career in animals started at the Indianapolis Zoo, where she was a zookeeper for 5 years. Torri enjoys working with surgery patients, and her organizational skills are a great asset to our team. Torri and her husband, Brody, live in Sullivan with their two daughters, Loretta and Raelynn. They also have two rescue dogs Sam and Maddie, who were adopted from a shelter in Indy.

Olivia Gingerich

Veterinarian Technician

Olivia lives at home with her parents, Joe and Lanora, siblings, Amber and Jordan, and her dog, Maggie. Olivia is attending Parkland Community College to become a Certified Vet Tech. Olivia enjoys doing yearly exams and puppy checks here at the clinic and shopping with her friends and family outside of work.

Eldon Yoder

Large Animal Technician

Eldon is one of our large animal techs with vast knowledge and experience in cattle and horse care. Eldon lives at home with his wife, Janell, and Cowboy Corgi, Remi. He enjoys visiting Montana to spend time on the ranch, working the cow-calf operations and feedlot operations.

Maci Mowry

Veterinarian Assistant

Maci Mowry is one of our veterinary assistants. She has been with Graham Veterinary Clinic since 2019. Maci has grown up in the military as her father served in the Army. She has had the opportunity to live in Japan and many cities throughout the United States. Macy is always willing to jump in wherever needed in the small animal clinic or out in the field assisting with large animals. You may even see her filling in at the front desk some evenings or weekends. Maci lives in Bethany; she has a dog named Shelby. She enjoys riding dirt bikes and hanging out with friends!

Mara Willoughby

Veterinarian Assistant

Mara is one of our veterinarian assistants, she comes to work with us after having been one of our clients for several years. She has wanted to work with animals since she was just a small child. She is very excited to join our team and be going what she loves. Mara and her husband Michael live on a farm outside of Tuscola with their two dogs a black labrador named Winnie and a Blue heeler named Blue. Together they enjoy spending time outside riding ATVs and Target Shooting.

Abby Blythe

Receptionist

Abby Blythe is our main receptionist. She just started at Graham Veterinary Clinic but has been a beloved client for 8 years. Abby was formerly a preschool teacher and a nanny in Northern Illinois. Abby lives with her boyfriend in Monticello. Together they have 2 dogs, Halas and Gibson. Abby enjoys spending time with her family, especially her niece, Tucker. She is an avid Cardinals and Packers fan. She also enjoys gardening and going to the gym in her free time.

Katie Honchell

Kennel Attendant

Katie Honchell is our wonderful kennel girl. She has been with Graham Veterinary Clinic since 2019. Katie brings much-needed organization to the kennel area and jumps in to help in the clinic when asked. Katie is a Junior at Sullivan Highschool. She lives in Sullivan with her parents, brother, and her rabbit, Miley.
